Japanese invent “intelligent” glass
The “intelligent” glass, developed in Japan, calls the waiter using a radio frequency identification system to make sure your glass is always full.
Researchers from the Electric Research Laboratories (MERL, www.merl.com), part of the Mitsubishi group, have come up with an “intelligent” glass which, when emptied, calls the waiter automatically thanks to a microchip and a small radio transmitter built into the bottom of the “iGlassware” system, according to New Scientist (newscientist.com.)
