Diet Coke and the art of refreshing
Young German contemporary artists design a limited artistic edition of Diet Coke The culture of everyday life in the curved bottle
Sponsored by the art collector and expert Christian Boros, an unusual artistic initiative of Diet Coke has been launched today at the Ludwig museum in Cologne. Under the slogan “Diet Coke and the art of refreshing”, three young German contemporary artists have been asked to come up with a new design for the legendary curved bottle that characterises Coca Cola. In a limited edition of 60,000 bottles, the 0.2 litre glass bottles will be covered. These so-called “sleeved bottles” will be distributed from May to June at events in the art world and gastronomic forums as sought-after collectors’ items.
