1st International Gastronomy Summit
For just three days, on 21, 22 and 23 January 2003, at the magical hours of the "1st International Gastronomy Summit", Madrid will welcome the most prestigious chefs and experts world-wide at an unprecedented event to date. The latest techniques and culinary creations, the intuition of Eastern and Western vanguards will sit side-by-side under the umbrella of cultural fusion and the significant evolution in tastes and eating habits observed in the most advanced societies on the planet. Raw materials will be discussed, along with defence of tradition, conservation of the larder and of the mixture of styles, techniques and products. Fusion, deconstruction and globalisation in the city of Madrid, open to leisure, culture and tourism, in Spain which offers a modern cuisine, amazing experts world-wide in recent years. There will be contests, guided tasting, master classes given by European, American and Asian chefs, round tables, discussions, debates, chats and exchanges of opinions between international professionals and journalists who will attend the debates. And, of course, organised meals and an exhibition of exquisite products that are gastronomic delicacies.
