The opening ceremony of the 36th edition of Vinitaly took place in the Verdi Auditorium of the Conference centre of Veronafiere. National, regional and municipal authorities took part in the opening. The Head of Veronafiere, Pierluigi Bolla was the first to speak and to highlight the importance of this cultural, commercial and promotional event for the world wide wine industry.


There are more than 4000 exhibitors form 26 different countries (10% more than last year's edition) spread over a 60 000 square metre space. A new mobile pavilion was set for the occasion.

Major wine producers are coming from USA, Argentina, South Africa, Spain, Hungary. All Italian regions l have their representatives. Visitors will be 90% experts, 75% of which have a main role in their company. Last year's edition has seen a flow of 141.000 visitors firm 87 different countries.
