Preparations for Fifth Vinoble edition begin

The inclusion of new countries, Romania, Turkey and Lebanon, and a greater number of wines and wine producers are some of the most significant novelties expected at the Fifth International Noble Wines Exhibition, Vinoble, which will be held in Jeez de la Frontera (Cádiz, Spain) from 28 to 31 May 2006.

Once again the most exquisite fortified, sweet and dessert wines from all over the world will be at Vinoble 2006. Portugal will bring Vintages from Port, muscatels from Sétubal and sweet wines from Madeira. From France will come the wines of Sauternes, Alsace and the Loire. From Hungary the Tokaj. Spain will include the dry, manzanilla, oloroso and amontillado sherries from Jerez, the Pedro Ximénezes from Montilla-Moriles, sweet wines from Catalonia, fortified wines from the Condado de Huelva, muscatels from Málaga, Navarre and Valencia, fondillones from Alicante, malmsey from the Canary Islands, sweet wines from Jumilla and Yecla and late vintages from Rueda and the Rias Baixas. Germany, Austria and Canada will present icewines; California dessert wines, and Chile and Argentina late vintages. These are only a few of the wines from the more than one hundred producing regions which will be present at the Fifth Vinoble Exhibition.

But those who visit Vinoble in 2006 will also be able to taste wines from Romania, including the dessert wines from Cotnari in Moldavia, for instance, where noble rot acts, or the dessert wines from Murgatlar. From Lebanon come late vintages from the Valley of Bekaa and from Turkey the fortified wines of the region of Ankara.

New countries and new producing regions reaffirm the exhibition’s commitment to assemble in a single spot the best fortified, sweet and dessert wines of the planet. The site chosen meets all the requirements to make Vinoble an unforgettable experience. This is the Andalusian town of Jerez. For all wine lovers the host town opens the gates of one of its most precious jewels: the Arab Alcazar and its beautiful courtyards where palm and orange trees grow. The Renaissance Villavicencio palace stands within the Alcazar walls and this is where stands will be installed.

Vinoble 2006 hopes to repeat the great success of the previous event, which has been corroborated by comments from importers and journalists. Following are a few excerpts:
“Once again Vinoble was a remarkable moment in my experience with wine” (Bernhard Hlavicka, Wein & CO, Austria). “Vinoble was a big surprise for me; we have been looking for this kind of event for many years” (Mark Schiettekat, Mafribel, France). “Vinoble came up to the level of our expectations” (Lewis Yu, Wine Symphony, Taiwan). “I was able to discover interesting new wines, have good interviews and participate in magnificent tastings and presentations” (Tomoko Ebisawa, Vinoteque. Japan). “Really impressed by the organisation in Jerez” (Maurizio Maestrelli, Civiltà del bere. Italy). “I am impressed; Vinoble 2004 is undoubtedly the best fair that I have attended” (Arne Ronold, Vinforum, Norway).

But the fifth event has also started with new ambitions. There will be more wines –1,200 different labels and more than 500 wineries will bring their best offers to Jerez. This is an absolute luxury for professionals of the wine industry who will have the best wines of the world within their reach for four days and in one place. It is also a pleasure to do business at Vinoble and, with the presence of more than 100 international importers, the exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity to taste, to purchase and to seal commercial deals.

The fifth edition will also have a new calendar. For the first time the exhibition will be open from Sunday to Wednesday.
