RIU wins 47 gold medals from Thomson
Resorts in Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Portugal, North Africa, the eastern Mediterranean and the Caribbean have all won awards This year, the RIU chain has received a total of 47 Gold Medals, an award that honours the superior quality of RIU establishments in almost all the group’s main destinations. Establishments in Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Portugal, North Africa, the eastern Mediterranean and the Caribbean have all received Thomson Gold Medals.
In fact, two RIU establishments classified as category leaders: the Riu Palace Mexico (Best Thomson Winter Accommodation) and the Riu Palace Madeira (Best Platinum Winter and Summer Accommodation).
The new series of awards received in 2007 is testimony to the RIU’s brand’s excellent positioning in Great Britain, the chain’s second major European origin market.
RIU Hotels & Resorts has over 100 hotels in 17 countries and over 19,000 employees. It ranks 27th among the world’s largest chains and is considered one of the finest in terms of the quality services it offers.
